Lukaku set for Napoli move after Chelsea accept £45m offer

Chelsea and Napoli have finally agreed on a transfer fee for striker Romelu Lukaku, with the Belgian set to join the Serie A club in a deal worth up to £45 million.

The Blues had been holding out for a fee of around £50 million, but Napoli have managed to negotiate a deal that will see them pay an initial £30 million, with a further £15 million in add-ons.

Lukaku is expected to sign a five-year contract with Napoli, with the move expected to be completed in the next few days.

The Belgian striker has been linked with a move away from Chelsea all summer, with Napoli and Inter Milan both interested in signing him.

Lukaku has two years remaining on his contract at Chelsea, but he is keen to leave the club in search of regular first-team football.

The 29-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea following the arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and he is now surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.

Napoli are in need of a new striker after selling Arkadiusz Milik to Juventus earlier this summer.

Lukaku is expected to play a key role in Napoli's attack next season, and he will be hoping to help the club challenge for the Serie A title.
